Baroness X Bling On the Night Review
May 23, 2014I'm back with four fab colors from Baroness X. Bling On the Night is a collection of neon jellies that glow in the dark. The colors are ultra bright during the day and equally as attractive in the evening. These four shades are perfect for summer because glow in the dark pigments glow best after they have been exposed to sunlight.
The formulas were all standard thickness for jellies, so I will not repeat that information throughout the review. All glow in the dark photos were taken in the same location with the same camera settings to make a direct comparison easier.
Totes MaVolts
Totes MaVolts is a purple jelly with silver glitter. Pictured above is two coats with no basecoat. This is probably the brightest neon purple I have ever seen! I tried charging this for about an hour in the sunshine and couldn't seem to get a glow out of it. I contacted Demi about this issue and she noted that it was a known issue and stated that the listing would reflect this information. She also noted that if you put any of these over white it should quicken the charge time and lengthen the glow time a bit.

Watt's Up
Watt's Up is a neon yellow/green jelly with silver glitter. Pictured above is three coats with no base color. You can still see the nail line with three coats, so if it bothers you I recommend wearing this over white. After a few minutes of charging under a daylight bulb this glowed nicely. This had the most intense glow out of the group.

Bright On
Bright On is a neon pink jelly with silver glitter. Pictured above is three coats with no basecoat. It is still possible to see the nail line, with three coats, but it wasn't as noticeable in person. This also had a great glow to it, but it wasn't as bright as Watt's Up.

YOgLOw
YOgLOw is a dark blue jelly with silver glitter. Pictured above is two coats with no basecoat. I also had issues getting this color to glow despite charging it in sunlight. I could see a faint glow, but it wasn't enough to be captured on camera. The lack of glow was a bummer, but I do like how squishy and rich this color is. I wouldn't recommend buying YOgLOw for its glow power, but I think it's nice on its own.

These are pretty. The glow in the dark aspect isn't too strong but I'm sure there fun to sport and surprise someone with.
ReplyDeleteI looooove Totes MaVolts! Even without the glow, it's a killer color.
