31dc2017 - Brick Gradient feat. Polished Vino & Zoya - Press sample

I hope you guys are having a great weekend so far! Today's post features my take on the #31dc2017 gradient prompt. I contemplated doing a regular gradient and/or a stamped gradient, but that didn't seem even remotely challenging or new. Instead, I decided to give my new Polished Vino One Brick At A Time vinyls a try.

In a world full of color the 31dc2017 black & white prompt leaves a lot to be desired. I've never been huge on black & white looks, so the real challenge was forcing myself to stick to this prompt. I decided to approach this with a simple gradient dotticure. I don't love it, but I can certainly live with it.

31dc2017 - Comic Book Nails feat. Zoya Presley & Born Pretty Store - Press sample

I am so flipping excited about today's nail art look. If you follow the 31dc2017 challenge you know that today's prompt is "violet". I decided to flip that a little bit with a Zoya Presley. I can argue that this is a muted violet, right?


I took today's prompt as an opportunity to try out one of my new Born Pretty Store plates I was sent for review. This is "Fashion Girl id 39485" or more appropriately a comic book stamping plate. The entire plate is done in pop art style and it's super cute.

I opted to keep this look relatively simple so that I didn't spend hours on decals for such a short wear time. This plate stamps quite well, which is no surprise for Born Pretty Store. It's safe to say I will be using it again soon!

It's day four of the 31dc2017 challenge and I feel like I'm starting to get used to the daily blogging. Today's prompt was for green nails. Green happens to be my favorite color, so I decided to pair it with one of my other favorite things... cats!

It's day three of the 31dc2017 challenge! Today's prompt was yellow nails, so I opted for Zoya Gal as my base color. It's yellow-ish... right?


This dinosaur plate has been in my "to use" queue for a bit and I've been longing for an opportunity to use it. I'm not sure why I decided to do these over Zoya Gal, but I thought it would be a good fit. It's kind of ugly and kind of cute. I totally don't hate it.

I'm feeling a little brave this month, so I thought it was time I try to conquer The 31 Day Nail Art Challenge. If you're feeling brave too please join me in this colossal challenge!


Today's prompt is "red nails" so I wanted to take the opportunity to try out a nail art look I've seen over the years. There are many different ways to achieve the "quilted" look of quilted nails, but I decided to use striping tape and a matte coat for my attempt.

I've been getting so much use out of the Morgan Taylor Matadora collection that I though it was time for some nail art. This look features almost every shade in the Matadora collection. I decided to go with my take on poppies and other wildflowers.

Products used

Morgan Taylor AccelErate is a quick dry nail polish spray. This dries nail polish to the touch in 60 seconds and will completely dry polish in less than 8 minutes. I did find these claims to be true in my tests. I don't own any Morgan Taylor top coats so I used another brand I had in a non-quick dry formula. Essentially, this will transform any regular top coat into a quick dry top coat with a light misting.
