Vampy Cats featuring Bliss Polish Bite
October 08, 2016Vampy Cats featuring Bliss Polish Bite- Press sample
With the month of Halloween in full swing (yes Halloween is a month, don't argue), I felt as though there weren't enough vampy, dark manis planned out. Today's #clairestelle8halloween prompt calls for black cats, so I decided to seize the opportunity to produce something Dracula would be proud of. This look features Bliss Polish Bite from her upcoming Behind Closed Doors 2.0 collection.
As you can see, Bliss Polish Bite is fantastically vampy. Polishes from the Behind Closed Doors 2.0 Collection dry matte, so a matte top coat is completely unnecessary.
For this look, I started out with two thin coats of Bliss Polish Bite. Why thin coats? Matte polishes tend to self-level a little differently than traditional glossy polishes. This means it's important to not apply too much polish to the nail at once. Thin coats guarantee an even, consistent finish.
Once the final coat of Bliss Polish Bite had time to dry, I stamped over it using Born Pretty Animal Theme Plate and Sinful Colors Black on Black.
Products used
- Bliss Polish- Bite
- Born Pretty Store- Animal Theme Plate (item 20795)
- Clear jelly stamper
- Sinful Colors- Black On Black
I love the contrast between matte and glossy, so I decided to forgo the top coat. In person the cats don't appear nearly as prominent as they do under bright lights, but I kind of like it that way.
