Painted Polish Sweet & Serene and Pantone Crelly 2016
July 08, 2016Blogging about nail polish has a lot of upsides, but it occasionally has a downside or two. The biggest downside is that you can't always blog about things before they are discontinued. Unfortunately, that's the case with today's set of swatches. Painted Polish released Sweet & Serene and Pantone Crelly 2016 as part of this year's Mother's Day trio. I picked up two of the three shades when they were released but wasn't able to wear them right away. I decided to share these swatches despite being discontinued because there's always a chance you could find them in a destash one day.
Pantone Crelly 2016
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: White crelly with pink and light blue glitter
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: The formula may appear a little thick, but it's best applied with one ultra thin coat followed by a thicker second coat.
Sweet & Serene
Formula: Nice consistency
Finish: Periwinkle blue holo with holographic micro glitter
Coverage: 2 coats
Notes: My swatch shows two thin coats.
I wanted to tie in the pink from the crelly, so I chose to stamp over Sweet & Serene using a floral stamp in a similar shade of pink. I didn't have anything identical, but I think it was a close enough match to work.
