Chloe & Bella Part 2
August 12, 2014Here's part two of the review. If you missed part one, you can find it here.
Pink Silk
Pink Silk is a light pink holo. Pictured above is four coats with no base color. The formula itself was easy to work with, but I would have liked it to be a little more pigmented. When removing this color I had issues with staining. Upon contacting Barbara (the owner) she apologized profusely and informed me that it would be removed from the store until she could reformulate it. I really appreciate her quick reply and decision to remove it temporarily. The staining bummed me out because I love how it looks outside. That is one pretty pink holo!

Evergreen
Evergreen is a gorgeous green to copper duochrome with silver flakies. The formula was easy to work with, but the pigmentation was a bit too light for me. On the website it is advertised as having full coverage with three coats. I used four coats in my swatches, and it still isn't fully opaque. I love the color, but I think it would look best over black or a dark grey. If you really wanted full coverage with just Evergreen, I think it would take six to eight coats to get there.

Black Opal
Black Opal is a purple to copper duochrome. The website advertises it as a multichrome, but it wasn't very apparent in real life or in my swatches. As I hold the bottle in my hand, the only area I see a change in color is along the edge of the bottle. It's a lovely shade, but I didn't get any shift from it indoors or outdoors. The website also advertises it as having full coverage with with three coats. In my swatches I used four coats, and still didn't achieve full coverage. I think the color is really pretty, but I wouldn't wear it without a base color again. I think it would look best over a black or dark grey polish.

Of all the colors I swatched I think I enjoyed Stormy and Starlight the most. Evergreen and Black Opal are nice, but definitely need a base color.

Black Opal has a great look to it. I would love to see it over a darker base color, maybe a deep purple.
ReplyDeleteGreat swatches on them! They all seem really sheer so I guess there better as layering colors.
