Breedlove Hoops

Reanimate is a shimmery holographic green with gray glitters. It also glows in the dark; and eerie green glow. This lacquer represents a fear of the undead - zombies, vampires, mummies, and ghouls. The formula was a nice consistency and required three coats for full coverage. The glow photo was charged underneath daylight compact fluorescent lights for three minutes.

Polishes used: Firecracker Lacquer- Reanimate, Poshe- Top Coat

Submerged is a blackened blue jelly filled with iridescent, teal, and holographic silver glitters, and blue flecks. This lacquer represents a fear of drowning and water. The formula was highly pigmented and barely needed two coats for full coverage.

Polishes used: Firecracker Lacquer- Submerged, Revlon- Top Coat

Unexpected Chill is a white creme with a slight green shimmer and shifting iridescent glitters. This lacquer represents ghosts, wraiths, spirits, sprites, and other things who you cannot see, but who can see you. This was one of the most difficult polishes to photograph. The iridescent glitters are in there (I promise!), they are just really subtle. They are most noticeable in the close up I used in the first post. The green shimmer is really neat. I didn't really notice it indoors unless I stuck my hand directly under a light. The moment I moved my hand around in the sunlight it was more prevalent. The formula was a little thicker than the rest, but not nearly as thick as many other glow in the dark polishes I've used. I found that 2-3 coats provides full coverage. The glow photo was taken after three minutes of charging under a daylight compact fluorescent bulb.

I'm sad to say that our journey through the spooky and unsettling has come to an end. I hope you found these as terrifying (and gorgeous) as I did! The What Are You Afraid Of collection will be released on Friday, September 19th at 10am MST.

The Void is a scattered holographic black sprinkled with holographic black and silver glitters, and a hint of charcoal glitter. This lacquer represents a complete void of light, whether that be death, space, or just utter darkness. While the thought of nothingness is pretty dang scary, if the void looks anything like it's namesake, I could definitely get used to it! The formula was super smooth and required two coats for full coverage.

Polishes used: Firecracker Lacquer- The Void, Revlon- Top Coat

They All Float Down Here is a soft pink creme with glitters in dark orange, neon pink, hot orange, and bright blue. This lacquer represents a fear of clowns; of creatures in face paint with fake laughs and big feet. I don't love clowns, but the name of this gorgeous color is enough to freak most people out. The formula was perfect and required three coats for full coverage.

I could bore you with repetitive descriptions, but I would rather get all that info out in one go. Both formulas were wonderful to work with, and required 3-4 coats for best coverage. I found that thin coats prevent any signs of streaking in the formula. The colors were just as lovely inside as they were out in the sunlight. I hope you enjoy these drool-worthy holos as much as I did!

Golden Delicious Curse is a succulent apple-cranberry base adorned with strong contrasting flashes of green to gold iridescence, chrome and holographic effects. The iridescence is subtle in the photos, but it really glows in the sunshine. The formula was a nice consistency and reached full coverage with three coats.

Polishes used: Superchic Lacquer- Golden Delicious Curse, Superchic Lacquer- Marvel Top Coat, Orly- Bonder

I wanted to do some subtle stamping over Golden Delicious Curse, but I didn't realize how subtle it would appear in the photos! I used Vivid Lacquer's VL 031 with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Gone Grey.

I can even begin to tell you how excited I am for Superchic Lacquer's Into the Woods collection. All of the colors were a nice consistency and gorgeous in all different types of lighting. The collection releases today, September 1st.
