Dr Sun Rx Jessica Robertson Collection Review
May 08, 2015Dr Sun Rx Jessica Robertson Collection Review- Press Sample
Hey guys! I hope you had a great week so far. This is a little out of the norm for me, but I thought I would review a handful of new products for you. All of the products featured in this post are from the Jessica Robertson line at Dr Sun Rx.
There are a variety of products available including an assortment of tanning lotion, lip gloss, bronzer and nail polish.
Tanning Lotion
I've never used true tanning lotion, so I am just going to give you a quick run down on the scents and texture.XOXO Natural Facial Bronzer- lightweight texture; scent free; $30 for 12oz
American Legs- medium to thick texture; coconut scent; $26 for 3.4oz
American Love Daily Moisturizer- medium texture; vanilla citrus scent; $28 for 3.4oz
Hidden Beauty Tanning Maximizer- medium texture; Sweet Dreams scent; $4.60 for .5oz
American Babe White Bronzers- medium texture; Sweet Love scent; $4.80 for .5oz
American Dream Ultra Black Bronzers- medium texture; watermelon scent; $5.60 for .5oz
Lip Gloss
From top to bottom: cherry, peach mango, berry, iced mocha, nude, cotton candy. I can't quite place the scents but they are all nice and subtle. They retail for $7 each.
Bronzer
I've had several bronzers over the the years, and the biggest issue I come across is over or under pigmentation. I found Jessica Robertson Bronzing Powder to have nice coverage without overwhelming my complexion. I like the fact that it has a small amount of shimmer. The Jessica Robertson Bronzing Powder retails for $25.
Nail Polish
The polish offered in the Jessica Robertson collection is a mixed bag of textures. There are cremes, metallics, a matte, a satin, and three textures. The formulas were easy to use, and exactly the consistency I expected them to be. The retail price is listed at $7.99 per bottle.
From left to right: Totally Taupe, Taupe, Rock On, Satin Champagne
Totally Taupe- creme; 2 coats for full coverage
Taupe- creme; 3 coats for full coverage
Rock On- metallic; 2 coats for full coverage
Satin Champagne- satin; 3 coats for full coverage
From left to right: Matte Gray, Champagne Sand, Silver Sand, Berry Sand.
Matte Gray- matte; 2 coats for full coverage
Champagne Sand- textured; 2 coats for full coverage
Silver Sand- textured; 2 coats for full coverage
Berry Sand- textured; 2 coats for full coverage
For this look I used Taupe, Satin Champagne, Totally Taupe and Champagne Sand. I wanted something in the nude family with a little extra flair.
To counter the previous look I decided to pair the other four colors for a more flashy look. I used Silver Sand, Rock On, Matte Gray and Berry Sand. In order to tie everything together I decided to use Silver Sand to freehand stripes over Matte Gray.
If you haven't guessed already, the polish was my favorite part of this review. There are so many looks that can be created with this collection!
