Philly Loves Lacquer- Seeing Isn't Believing Collection
November 24, 2014Today I have seven colors from Philly Loves Lacquer's Seeing Isn't Believing Collection. The collection is based on the Santa Clause movie and consists of sixteen colors. The seven colors I have to share with you are going to be exclusive to Ella Ann Cosmetics.
1-800-SPANK-ME
1-800-SPANK-ME is a berry colored holo. I was able to achieve full coverage with two coats. The formula was ok, but I encountered several pigment chunks.
Santa's In a Panzer!
Santa's In a Panzer is a green holo. I was able to achieve full coverage with two coats. The consistency was ok, but I encountered quite a few pigment chunks in this formula. As you can see by my pinky nail, I was unable to smooth it out.
Topo Gigio!
Topo Gigio is a light purple holo. I found that I got the best coverage with three coats. The formula was a nice consistency and dried quickly.
A Rose Suchak Ladder
A Rose Suchak Ladder is a gunmetal holo. The formula as a nice consistency, but I encountered a few small undissolved pigment chunks. The swatches show two coats with no base color.
While I love the actual colors of this collection, I can't really speak on the quality of the formulas. I contacted Philly Loves Lacquer upon encountering the pigment chunks, and was told that it happened because the blogger packs were rushed. Esther, the maker of PLL, reassured me that the final product will not have any formula issues.
Update: I spoke with Esther of Philly Loves Lacquer about the quality control issues I had mentioned in these posts. I agreed to update my posts to state that Esther reassured me that her products would arrive without pigment chunks. Esther told me that she would send out replacement polish that had not been rushed out. I received that update on November 26th, 2014.
As of December 14th, 2014 I had not received replacement bottles. With the craziness of the season I assumed it had been due to USPS package issues. I contacted Esther to make sure I hadn't missed the package, and was informed that she was so busy from her Thanksgiving sales that she forgot about it. I was then promised that it would be sent out that week. Today is January 1st, 2015, and I have not received any further correspondence from Esther or Philly Loves Lacquer. I am personally a bit wary of ordering anything from her in the future.

I really like Topo Gigio! It's unique. Too bad about the formulas being iffy. :\
ReplyDeleteNice swatches of all these.
ReplyDeleteThat's one of my favorites from this collection. I didn't have any issues with the formula of Topo Gigio.
ReplyDeleteI was super excited to see a Christmas collection based off of this Christmas classic! I can't wait to watch it every year and I've already watched it this year... Bummer about the pigment chunks though, hopefully they solve that because these all look gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd please tell me everyone else read " Topo Gigio" like Tim Allen says it in the movie...
